Job Description
Saturday and Sunday 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shifts
Sets up injection molding machines in anticipation of the molding process, ensuring correct parameters are set for the specific part being molded.
Setting molds, dies, etc., to conform to scheduled requirements, to include leaving the workstation clean and organized, with quality parts coming from the process, while minimizing downtime. Clears the production line of previous product materials, tools, and instructions, preparing it for the new part
Troubleshoot and solve minor molding process conditions (short shots, flash, burns, etc.) to ensure quality and prevent non-conformance.
Implement appropriate corrective action for mold changeovers and repairs.
Provide preventative maintenance of injection molds through scheduled inspections.
Verify mold tooling dimensional conformance to print tolerances using component and reliable measurement techniques.
Manage mold tooling prints.
Adjust, maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment to maximize utilization.
Detail mold tool maintenance on work orders.
Setup and operate molding machinery and support equipment.
Maintain and perform scheduled preventative maintenance functions.
Work closely with technicians and operators to ensure equipment functions properly.
Comply with OSHA regulations.
Ensure good housekeeping and follow all safety guidelines.
Plastic Injection Molding Technician Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of 1+ years combined experience with plastic injection molding and tooling.
Minimum 1+ years related basic problem solving and processing skills in relation to injection molding and automation equipment.
HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent work experience
Understanding of injection molding machine(s) and auxiliary equipment operations and repair preferred.
Understanding of robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and/or electric systems for both relay and solid-state machinery preferred.
Ability to make independent tooling recommendations and strong problem solving and analytical skills
Possess good communication skills both written and verbal. Possess above basic math skills.
Good visual skills for accessing equipment functionality.
Must have above minimum computer skills and reasoning ability.
Exhibit mechanical aptitude and the ability to adapt.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to lift or move 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, and stretch
Must be able to stand for full shift.
