We Are Hiring: Child Care Worker (Educator)
Salary $77,000 + superannuation
We are looking for compassionate and motivated Child Care Workers to join our team. You will work under the guidance of a Lead Educator to create a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for children, while supporting their learning and development in alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS).
Key Responsibilities
1. Educational Program & Practice (NQS Area 1)
• Assist in planning and implementing play-based, inclusive programs aligned with EYLF or MTOP.
• Support children's learning through intentional teaching and reflective practice.
• Document observations, assessments, and learning progress.
2. Children’s Health & Safety (NQS Area 2)
• Maintain a safe, hygienic environment in line with WHS and food safety standards.
• Act as a mandatory reporter and follow child protection legislation.
• Provide first aid and keep accurate records of incidents and health concerns.
3. Physical Environment (NQS Area 3)
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating learning space.
• Report maintenance needs and support sustainability practices.
4. Staffing & Professionalism (NQS Area 4)
• Collaborate respectfully with team members and engage in professional learning.
• Follow all service policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
5. Relationships with Children (NQS Area 5)
• Build respectful, responsive, and nurturing relationships with children.
• Model appropriate behaviour and support children's autonomy and rights.
6. Families & Community (NQS Area 6)
• Develop strong, respectful partnerships with families.
• Encourage family involvement and support broader community engagement.
7. Governance & Leadership (NQS Area 7)
• Ensure compliance with national legislation, regulations, and service policies.
• Maintain confidentiality and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
• Diploma or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
Essential Experience
• At least 1 year of experience in a support or early childhood role
• Sound knowledge of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), Education and Care Services National Law (2010), National Regulations (2011), Family Assistance Law (Child Care Subsidy 2018)
• Willingness to act as a Responsible Person under relevant legislation, if required.
Skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at various levels - written and oral
• A passion and desire to work with young children, their parents and other Educators.
