Multicom Resources is a Queensland-based exploration and minerals refining company focused on discovering and developing world-class mineral deposits. Among its key projects is the Saint Elmo Project, located in the Northwest Minerals Province of Queensland. This project is advancing the production of vanadium and high-purity alumina, essential resources for global technology manufacturers.
About the role:
As a Specialised Mineral Processing Instrument Technician at Scidell in the Saint Elmo Mine, you will play a vital role in supporting the safe and efficient construction of the mine, as well as assisting our team of Specialised Instrument Technicians in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems. Reporting to the Electrical Lead, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sophisticated instrumentation and control systems critical to plant performance and safety.
This is a full-time role based at the Saint Elmo Mine site near Julia Creek, Queensland.
Key Responsibilities:
-Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of fixed plant instrumentation.
-Install new control devices and instruments for plant construction and R&D purposes.
-Troubleshoot faults in instrumentation and control systems in coordination with engineering and maintenance teams.
-Maintain accurate documentation for maintenance, calibration, and configuration activities.
-Support upgrades and replacements of instrumentation systems.
-Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and liaise with procurement to ensure availability.
-Respond effectively to instrumentation failures to minimize downtime and uphold safety.
-Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all maintenance and calibration work.
Key Requirements:
-A minimum of 2 year of experience in instrumentation and control systems within a mining, processing, or industrial environment.
-Trade Qualification in Certificate III in Electrical Technology (QLD Electrical Licence essential).
-Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control or Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation.
-Demonstrated ability to calibrate, install, and maintain fixed plant instrumentation and automation systems.
-Experience with troubleshooting control systems, including Total Distribution Systems (TDS) and DCS/SCADA interfaces.
-Strong fault-finding skills and knowledge of electrical standards and specifications.
-Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to all relevant safety regulations.
