About the Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join their kitchen team. This role involves preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes, supporting daily kitchen operations, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and contributing to a collaborative and productive kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes across multiple sections
(grill, fryer, oven, etc.) in line with company standards
-Support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations and food
preparation tasks
-Monitor food quality and ensure freshness and consistency across all menu
items
-Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, complying with NSW food
safety regulations
-Assist in stock control, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage
of ingredients and supplies
-Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak
times
-Follow opening and closing procedures to ensure kitchen readiness and
hygiene
-Adapt recipes and preparation techniques as needed to meet dietary
requirements and special requests
-Uphold workplace health and safety practices and report any issues to
management
-Communicate effectively with team members to maintain workflow and service
standards.
Candidate Requirements:
-At least 1 year of experience working as a Cook in a busy commercial
kitchen
-Solid understanding of kitchen operations, food hygiene, and safety
practices
-Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks during peak
service times
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation
-Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
-Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and
public holidays
-Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
-Experience working with diverse menus and dietary requirements is a plus
