About the Role

Our client is currently seeking qualified Boilermakers/Welders (Metal Fabricators) to join their team in Portsmith, QLD. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced tradespeople to contribute to impactful steel fabrication projects in a well-equipped, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to guide welding and fabrication tasks
- Cut, shape, and assemble structural steel components
- Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding according to specifications
- Inspect completed welds and components to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Work with various metals including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
- Operate welding and fabrication machinery, including power and hand tools
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workspace
- Collaborate with supervisors and trades colleagues to ensure timely project delivery
- Mentor apprentices and junior team members as needed

Candidate Requirements:

- Trade qualification in welding, metal fabrication, or boilermaking
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in welding or steel fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding (highly regarded)
- Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards
- Team player with excellent communication skills
