Operating from an 8,600m modern facility situated on 21,000m of land within the Cairns Port Industrial area, they have access to various transport options, including road, rail, air, and sea. Their workforce comprises approximately 120 personnel, including boilermakers, fitters, certified welders, riggers, crane operators, painters, draftspersons, and administrative staff. CSF Industries specializes in steel fabrication and has the capacity to process approximately 100-150 tonnes of large steel per week.

About the Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Spray Painter to join their team in Portsmith, QLD. The successful candidate will oversee all painting operations within their state-of-the-art blast and painting facility, ensuring high-quality finishes on fabricated steel components. This role involves leading a team of painters, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring projects are completed to the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and supervise all spray painting activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.

- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide painting processes.

- Mentor and train junior painters and apprentices, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer.

- Collaborate with fabrication and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution.

- Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.

- Assist in planning and allocating resources effectively to meet project deadlines.

Candidate Requirements:

- Trade qualification in spray painting or a related field.

- Minimum of 1 year experience in industrial spray painting.

- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
