Full Time Pastrycook
SALARY $75000 + SUPERANNUATION
DUTIES:
• To play a key role in the consistent delivery of high-end quality food
• Create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business
• Ensure food is prepared and produced on time
• Preparing and cooking food
o Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing, and shaping dough/pastry goods
o Preparing pastry fillings
o Glazing and decorating pastry items
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• To ensure all kitchens have regulatory compliance to relevant laws and that systems and training is adhered to including but not limited to OH&S and hygiene regulations.
• To have a positive and ongoing communication with other departments to ensure a seamless operation to your responsibilities and service to our customers
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
• To ensure wastage is minimised
• To assist in the control of stock levels
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• The position will require flexible hours of work, including weekends and public holidays.
REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
• At least a Certificate III in Patisserie, Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 2 years' employment experience (post Apprenticeship/Qualification) in a similar role with experience
• Great organisational skills with acute attention to detail
• Experience in operating a food & beverage venue / kitchen in strict accordance with legislation in relation to safe food handling and WHS
• Works willingly as part of the team to ensure services are of a high standard.
• Has a positive, professional attitude.
