About Us
We are a growing telecommunications and civil construction company delivering fibre network infrastructure projects across Sydney and surrounding areas. With ongoing NBN, private network, and commercial projects, we are seeking an experienced and reliable Fibre Civil Technician to join our team.

Duties of Telecommunications Technical Officer or Technologist
• Install, maintain, repair and fault-find on fibre optic cable systems, telecommunications networks and associated equipment including pits, pipes, conduits and lead-in installations.
• Perform onsite fibre testing, jointing and splicing, diagnosing and resolving faults in line with design specifications and telecommunications network performance standards.
• Respond to and coordinate emergency telecommunications cable repairs, documenting rectification works and maintaining accurate records of equipment status, inventory, locations and quality standards.
• Configure and integrate telecommunications network infrastructure with relevant software, hardware and operating systems, including supporting NBN remediation and upgrade projects.
• Provide technical advice and monitor network performance, conducting site inspections and troubleshooting civil and fibre network infrastructure to ensure ongoing operational reliability.
• Plan and contribute to the development of customer access telecommunications network infrastructure, reading and interpreting DBYD maps, civil construction plans and design drawings.
• Liaise with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors and fibre hauling and splicing teams, monitoring contractual obligations, performance delivery and ensuring project completion milestones are met.
• Supervise and oversee civil works including trenching (manual and machine-assisted), installation of conduits, site preparation and reinstatement (concrete, asphalt, turf), and traffic management setup where required.
• Maintain and service civil machinery and plant equipment, ensuring all tools and assets are operationally ready and accounted for.
• Monitor and enforce WHS compliance on active worksites, upholding safety standards and ensuring all works meet regulatory and quality requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS
Min. 3 years field experience
Min. 3 years team management experience
Min. 3 years technical experience
Min. 3 years’ experience in telecommunications civil works

• White Card (Construction Induction)
• Valid Driver’s Licence (HR preferred)
• Knowledge of NBN standards and practices (preferred)
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors
• Strong attention to safety and quality
