Retail Manager (Full-Time) Pharmacy Retail Operations

The pharmacy offers a comprehensive range of prescription and over-the-counter healthcare products, including vitamins and supplements, skincare and beauty items, perfumes, baby care and personal care products, mobility aids, electronic health monitors, and other pharmacy retail goods. In addition, it provides a wide range of professional pharmacy services.

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day retail operations of the pharmacy and ensure continued excellence in customer service, stock management, compliance, and team leadership.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the overall retail operations of the pharmacy store in line with business goals
• Determine product mix, stock levels and inventory turnover across pharmacy retail lines including supplements, health products, skincare, fragrances, personal care items, and medical devices
• Develop and implement purchasing, pricing, merchandising and promotional strategies to maximise profitability and meet community demand
• Monitor sales performance, daily takings, financial transactions and KPI outcomes, and prepare regular operational reports for management
• Maintain accurate records relating to stock movement, sales data, shrinkage control, supplier orders and financial performance
• Manage store budgets, cost controls and resource allocation to achieve sales and profitability targets
• Ensure high standards of visual merchandising, product display, store presentation and customer service delivery
• Coordinate and supervise retail staff rosters, workforce planning, onboarding, training and performance management of front-of-shop employees
• Work collaboratively with pharmacists and dispensary staff to ensure smooth integration between retail and professional pharmacy services
• Promote pharmacy services and retail products through in-store campaigns, local promotions and online channels
• Liaise with suppliers and representatives to maintain stock availability, negotiate supply arrangements, and support promotional activity
• Resolve escalated customer concerns and ensure a consistently high level of customer satisfaction
• Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, pharmacy retail procedures, consumer law, and other relevant regulatory obligations
Essential Requirements
• Minimum 2 3 years of relevant experience as a Retail Manager, Store Manager, or similar role
• Relevant qualification in Retail Management, Business, Leadership, or related field
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume retail operations across multiple product categories
• Strong experience in inventory control, sales reporting, budgeting and staff supervision
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
• Strong customer service and problem-solving capability
• High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Highly Desirable
• Previous experience in a community pharmacy, health retail, or wellness retail environment
• Familiarity with OTC medicines, vitamins, supplements, skincare, health devices and pharmacy retail compliance procedures
• A background in healthcare is highly regarded
• Experience working alongside pharmacists and healthcare service teams
