Purpose of Role
The DevOps Engineer (CI/CD Focus) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to support the SkilledUp Life Platform V2. This role ensures reliability, prevents code breakages, enforces quality gates, and enables smooth, automated deployments across frontend, backend, and APIs.
Key Activities
Assess and improve existing GitHub Actions workflows for efficiency, reliability, and speed.
Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for the Vue 3 frontend and PHP/Laravel backend.
Automate builds, testing (unit, integration, end-to-end), code quality checks, and deployment processes.
Troubleshoot pipeline failures, diagnose root causes, and implement fixes.
Configure and secure environment variables, secrets, and access in GitHub Actions.
Collaborate with frontend, backend, and QA teams to integrate CI/CD into development workflows.
Document pipeline processes, architecture, and operational procedures.
Stay up to date with CI/CD tools, techniques, and best practices.
Attend product meetings, submit daily updates (via Slack), and collaborate with the product team.
