Purpose of role
The Social Media Sub-Team Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating volunteers who create, publish, and manage content across all major social media platforms. This role ensures consistent brand presence, high-quality content output, strong audience engagement, and alignment with organisational goals.
By providing guidance, structure, and performance oversight, the Sub-Team Leader enables volunteers to execute effective social media strategies while developing leadership experience in digital communications and remote team management.
Key Activities:
Lead and support Social Media and Content Creation Volunteers, including task allocation, check-ins, and onboarding.
Ensure content quality, brand alignment, and consistency across all social platforms.
Oversee social media planning, scheduling, and cross-platform campaigns.
Manage community engagement, responding to interactions and escalating sensitive issues.
Track performance metrics, evaluate content effectiveness, and report insights to leadership.
Train and mentor volunteers on tools, workflows, and best practices.
Collaborate with Marketing, Partnerships, Recruitment, and Product teams to align messaging and support campaigns.
