Full Time Joiner
Salary $82,000 + Superannuation

At Mavi Decor, we work closely with our clients, designers, and builders to transform ideas into premium spaces. Every project is approached with meticulous attention to detail, innovative design solutions, and a commitment to quality materials and finishes.

Task List:
Interpret Technical Drawings and Client Specifications
o Review architectural plans, shop drawings, and project specifications to determine dimensions, materials, and installation methods tailored for kitchens, retail fit-outs, childcare centers, and medical clinics.
Measure, Cut, and Shape Timber and Board Materials
o Accurately measure, mark, and cut timber, laminates, and composite materials using manual and computer-controlled machinery (e.g., panel saws, CNC routers) according to bespoke design requirements.
Assemble and Construct Custom Joinery Units
o Assemble cut components into high-end custom cabinetry, counters, shelving units, and fittings ensuring proper joints, finishes, and alignment for seamless installation.
Operate Joinery Workshop Machinery and Tools
o Use woodworking equipment such as edge banders, drills, sanders, and other hand and power tools safely and efficiently in a workshop environment.
Apply Finishes and Prepare Products for Installation
o Sand, laminate, and apply surface finishes (e.g., veneers, edging) to ensure a professional and durable finish in line with project quality standards.
Install Joinery Products On-site
o Deliver and install custom joinery units on client premises ranging from residential kitchens to commercial retail, medical, and childcare facilities ensuring precise fit and secure fixing.
Collaborate with Project Teams and Clients
o Work closely with designers, builders, and other trades to ensure timely delivery of high-quality joinery solutions according to client expectations and project timelines.
Maintain Workshop Safety and Quality Standards
o Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures, ensuring tools and machinery are used correctly and that work areas remain clean and hazard-free.
Undertake Minor Repairs and Modifications
o Repair or modify existing fittings as required during renovation or client-requested changes.
Work with Various Materials Beyond Timber
o Incorporate materials such as melamine, acrylic, laminates, perspex, and light metals where project specifications require non-timber elements.

SKILLS REQUIRED

- Minimum Certificate III in Joinery or equivalent and 2 years work experience in the relevant field or
Cert IV in the relevant field and min 1 year F/T work experience in Joinery
- Having Cert III in Joinery as well as Cert IV in the relevant field would be highly regarded.
- Residential and Commercial expertise required.
- Experience in bespoke craftsmanship and tailored interior solutions and working with various materials beyond timber, such as melamine, acrylic, laminates, perspex, and light metals where project specifications require non-timber elements.
