About the role

ISOFT Software Technologies Pty Ltd is seeking a talented and experienced Software & Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise and contribute to the delivery of complex data engineering solutions. As a subject matter expert, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of cutting-edge data analytics projects for our diverse client base.
These multiple full-time roles are for Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane. Salary range is $90,000 to $160,000 plus superannuation.
What you'll be doing
1. Providing expert-level guidance and support on the design, development, and deployment of software solutions
2. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, and efficient software architectures
3. Developing and optimizing Notebooks, Spark jobs, and other data processing pipelines
4. Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to the various softwares and platform
5. Documenting best practices, standards, and procedures for data usage and maintenance
6. Mentoring and training junior team members on data-related technologies and techniques
7. Staying up-to-date with the latest data features, updates, and industry trends

What we're looking for
1. 3+ years of demonstrable experience in data engineering and/or data analytics,
2. Proficiency in writing Spark code (Scala, Python, or PySpark) and leveraging product information
3. Deep understanding of data engineering concepts, such as data pipelines, batch and streaming processing, and cloud-based data architectures
4. Familiarity with other big data technologies (e.g., SQL, Hadoop, Kafka, Delta Lake) and their integration with various softwares
5. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and adapt to changing requirements
6. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams
