Job Title: Full-time Veterinarian
Salary: $96,000 plus superannuation

Duties

• Examining animals to diagnose illnesses, injuries, or other health issues
• Providing treatment plan, including medications, vaccinations and surgeries
• Treating animals medically and surgically, and administering and prescribing drugs, analgesics, and general and local anaesthetics
• Determining the presence and nature of abnormal conditions by physical examination
• Performing the laboratory testing, blood tests, X rays, ultrasound and determine the appropriate treatment plans.
• Performing surgery, dressing wounds and setting broken bones
• Rendering obstetric services to animals
• Recommending lifestyle changes for improving the health of animals
• Inoculating animals against, and testing for, infectious diseases and notifying authorities of outbreaks of infectious animal diseases
• Handling emergency cases such as injuries, poisoning, or severe infections.
• Advising clients on health, nutrition and feeding, hygiene, breeding and care of animals
• Monitoring the recovery and progress of treated animals
• Providing support and guidance for pet owners dealing with terminal illnesses or euthanasia decisions.

Required Skills
• Bachelor’s degree recognised in Australia
• More than 2 years of experience in the relevant field is essential
• A flexible and adaptable approach, with a commitment to gold standards of care
• Passion for pets (naturally), with excellent animal handling skills
• Registration or eligibility for veterinary registration in Australia
• Exceptional organisational, communication and customer service skills
• Interest in, and commitment to, working in a team environment
• Understanding of Australian animal welfare laws and veterinary regulations
