FULL TIME PHARMACIST
SALARY $75,000 to $85,000 per annum + superannuation
Position Summary
As the Pharmacist, you will be responsible and accountable for the efficient and accurate provision of medicines and health information to consumers and ensure that standards and procedures as well as legislation and professional requirements are implemented and maintained.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Within this role, oversee the supply and sale of medicines, therapeutic devices and non-pharmacy products, and the provision of all pharmacy services.
Sales & Service
• Assist at dispensary counter when required.
• Build customer relationships and loyalty.
• Provide and promote pharmacy services to customers. Assist customers with non-prescription medicine sales.
• Maintain sound product knowledge, including retail and non-prescription medicines.
Dispensary Operations
• Supply medicines, including prescription and non-prescription medicines in accordance with the Pharmacy Board of Australia and National Health Act regulations and guidelines.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Dispensing prescription medicines (including medicine counselling)
Supplying Pharmacist Only Medicines
Supervising and assisting with supply of Pharmacy Medicines, unscheduled medicines and health products Oversee duties of the dispensary assistant(s).
Provide professional pharmacy services, including, but not limited to:
dose administration aids
staged supply screening/management of disease states
health promotion
In pharmacy review
• Report all dispensing errors and near misses, or any breach of ethics.
• Counsel on medication both prescription and over the counter.
• Practice in accordance with dispensary policy and procedure.
• Collaborate and maintain relationships with local health professionals.
• Ensure PBS and PPI claims are prepared.
• Ensure that dispensary shelves are clean and neat, and standards are maintained as per best practice guidelines.
• Maintain dispensary stock, including stock rotation, ordering and expiry-date checking.
• Maintain appropriate ethical standards in relation to the pharmacy.
• Comply with the Pharmacist Code of Ethics while practising.
• Computer housekeeping and back-ups to be performed on (a daily, weekly and monthly) basis.
• Apply work practices as required under state and federal work health and safety legislation and associated Codes of Practice and ensure compliance with the Equal Opportunity and Discrimination legislation.
• Monitor access to safe/s in compliance with VPA (Victorian Pharmacy Authority) requirements.
Standards and staff performance
• Maintain dress standards in accordance with the pharmacy's policy.
• Maintain punctuality.
• Attend meetings with staff and management as required.
• Maintain an excellent knowledge of the dispensary and health-care related products and services.
Safety & Security
• Apply the pharmacy's workplace safety procedures in daily activities.
• Follow the pharmacy's workplace procedures for reporting hazards and incidents.
• Conduct store opening and closing in accordance to pharmacy's procedures under pharmacist supervision.
Supervision of staff
• Supervise Pharmacy Assistants.
• Escalate any performance concerns or employee grievances to manager or proprietor.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree.
• Current AHPRA registration as a pharmacist.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to lead and work as part of a dynamic team with a broad range of roles and responsibilities.
• Lift and move items of a moderate to heavy weight (approximately 10 kgs). Reach items above shoulder height.
• Use computer screens and technology frequently.
