The Role:
This is for a full-time Accountant-General role with below listed duties and responsibilities,
The Responsibilities:
Prepare quarter-end and year-end Company Tax Returns for compliance with statutory requirements.
Preparing quarter-end and year-end financial reports, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
Effectively manage and resolve tax disputes with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to protect the company's interests.
Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS), doing GST calculation and reporting material changes to the ATO.
Assisting in the formulation of accounting and budgetary policies for the business.
Overseeing general ledger and journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Preparing detailed business reports for audit purposes and collaborating with external auditors to address queries during the audit process.
Examining income and expenditure for construction projects, including job costing, subcontractor claims, and project performance.
Supporting financial planning efforts aimed at minimizing tax liabilities.
Introducing and maintaining accounting systems, including implementation and usage of systems like Databuild.
Maintain organized financial records through proper backup procedures for easy access and reference.
Supervising the reconciliation of monthly bank statements for all company accounts and reviewing data related to expenses, net worth, and assets.
Managing daily cash flow activities, including account tracking, payroll, and budgeting.
Preparing periodic management reports and financial dashboards to assist senior management in financial planning and cost control.
Coordinating with the senior management to keep firm operational costs under control to boost productivity and boost corporate profits.
The Requirements:
At least bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university.
Demonstrated commercial acumen to understand the dynamics of a complex evolving industry
At least 3 years of relevant experience with particular attention to detail
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Must have experience working with Databuild & Xero accounting software system
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter experts
Detail oriented, ability to multitask, work independently and priorities tasks
Proven track record of increased responsibilities and scope
Ability to independently resolve complex problems where analysis requires the in-depth evaluation of numerous factors
Ability to self-manage and execute in an unstructured environment
Ability to organize, plan and manage, together with the capacity to priorities for self and coordinate input from others to deliver timely results
Demonstrated experience in complex, integrated, computerized accounting systems;
Demonstrated ability to methodically analyses sets of data
A positive and team-oriented approach
