Job Description
The Bricklayer will be responsible for carrying out bricklaying and masonry work on residential and renovation projects. The role requires practical construction skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Lay bricks, blocks and other masonry materials according to construction plans and specifications.
• Build and repair walls, partitions, foundations and other brick structures.
• Mix and apply mortar, cement and other construction materials.
• Measure, cut and shape bricks and blocks to the required dimensions.
• Read and interpret building drawings, plans and measurements.
• Carry out repairs, restoration and renovation work on existing buildings.
• Ensure brickwork is level, properly aligned and finished to a high standard.
• Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, organised working area.
• Follow health and safety regulations and site procedures.
• Work collaboratively with other construction workers and tradespeople.
• Report any structural issues, material shortages or work-related problems to the supervisor.
Essential Requirements
• Previous experience in bricklaying or a similar construction role.
• Practical knowledge of bricklaying techniques, mortar preparation and masonry work.
• Ability to measure accurately and follow construction drawings and instructions.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good understanding of construction site health and safety requirements.
• Reliable, punctual and physically capable of performing the duties of the role.
Relevant construction qualifications, vocational training and a valid CSCS card would be advantageous.
Salary and Working Conditions
• Annual Salary: 34,000.
• Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
