About the role
OOM Miles Roadhouse is seeking a reliable Cook to join our kitchen team in Miles, Queensland. You will prepare and cook menu items, maintain consistent food quality and support the daily operation of the kitchen.
Responsibilities
examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
preparing and cooking food
seasoning food during cooking
portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
storing food in temperature controlled facilities
preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
may plan menus and estimate food requirements
may train other kitchen staff and apprenticesders promptly.
Assist with stock ordering and minimise food waste.
Qualification and experience
1-3 years of experience preparing and cooking food in a commercial kitchen.
A commercial cookery qualification is desirable.
