ABOUT THE BUSINESS

DESTINY HOMES & CONSTRUCTION PTY LTD is seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter to join its team on a full-time basis.

The successful applicant will undertake carpentry work for residential construction, home building and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will have relevant carpentry qualifications, practical experience and the ability to complete work safely and accurately in accordance with building plans and specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
- Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and other building materials.
- Construct and install timber frames, wall frames, roof frames and other structural components.
- Install doors, windows, flooring, fittings and other carpentry components.
- Carry out carpentry work for residential construction and renovation projects.
- Assemble, fit and secure building components according to project specifications.
- Select and operate appropriate carpentry tools and equipment.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Repair and maintain timber structures and building components where required.
- Coordinate with builders, subcontractors and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised worksite.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants must have:

- A minimum Certificate III in Carpentry or a related qualification.
- At least 1 year of relevant carpentry experience.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of carpentry tools, materials and construction methods.
- Good measuring, cutting, fitting and installation skills.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills.
