About the Business

Premier Ducts (QLD) Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer to support the company’s internal software systems, digital platforms, databases, reporting tools, and technology improvement projects. The position will be based at our business premises in Heathwood, Queensland.

About the Role

The Software Developer will be responsible for developing, testing, implementing, maintaining, and documenting software applications and internal business systems to support the company’s operational efficiency, reporting, production coordination, inventory management, and administrative workflows.

The successful candidate will work closely with management, operational staff, and external ICT providers to develop practical software solutions that meet business requirements and improve system performance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, test, maintain, and document program code in accordance with business and technical requirements.
Analyse business and system requirements to design practical software solutions.
Build, modify, and maintain internal software applications, databases, reporting tools, and workflow automation processes.
Write, update, test, debug, and maintain efficient and secure code.
Support integration between internal systems, business applications, databases, and third-party platforms.
Identify software defects, system issues, and performance problems, and implement suitable solutions.
Conduct unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing for new and modified applications.
Prepare technical documentation, system notes, user guides, and testing records.
Liaise with management, users, and external ICT vendors to ensure software solutions meet business needs.
Support improvements to inventory tracking, production scheduling, job management, reporting, and administrative systems.
Maintain data quality, system security, backup processes, and software reliability.
Provide technical support and user training where required.
Skills and Experience Required

The successful applicant must have:

Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Software Development, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience, as a Software Developer, Application Developer, Programmer Analyst, or similar role.
Experience in software development, coding, testing, debugging, and technical documentation.
Knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, C#, Java, PHP, SQL, or similar.
Experience with databases, web applications, APIs, reporting tools, or business management systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into practical software solutions.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
Experience in manufacturing, construction, logistics, ducting, HVAC, warehouse, or building products environments.
Experience with ERP, CRM, inventory, production, job management, or order management systems.
Experience with Microsoft 365, Power BI, SQL databases, cloud platforms, or automation tools.
Understanding of cybersecurity, data quality, system integration, and software version control.
