About the Role

Mooloolah Valley Seafood And Burger Bar is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals while maintaining consistent standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and kitchen operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
Planning menus and estimating food and labour costs in consultation with management.
Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
Preparing ingredients and ensuring appropriate portioning and presentation of meals.
Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking equipment.
Preparing and cooking food to meet customer orders and service requirements.
Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients and food products.
Ensuring food is stored, handled and prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
Managing stock levels and assisting with ordering food and kitchen supplies.
Minimising food wastage and maintaining appropriate stock rotation.
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
Training and providing guidance to kitchen staff where required.
Working effectively with management and other team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Skills and Experience

1 3 years of relevant experience as a Chef or in a similar commercial kitchen role.
Relevant cookery qualification is desirable.
Strong food preparation and cooking skills.
Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary

$70,000 $85,000 per annum + superannuation, depending on qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
