Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is the statutory Compliance Officer role required under Section 80 of the Pension Reform Act 2014. You will build GNPL's compliance function from scratch, reporting directly to the MD/CEO and maintaining a close working relationship with PenCom.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Carry out compliance audits across all of GNPL's operational areas.
Monitor and ensure implementation of the Pension Reform Act 2014 and all PenCom regulations, codes and guidelines.
Prepare monthly and quarterly compliance reports for the Board and PenCom.
Disclose and report violations to appropriate authorities, including PenCom.
Develop and maintain GNPL's compliance policy and promote a strong compliance culture.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A first degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Auditing, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Law, or a related numerate/semi-numerate field.
A good understanding of financial records and regulatory requirements.
Computer literacy.
Sufficient cognate experience to be appointed at a status not below Head of Department.
Unquestionable integrity, sound judgement and strong written and oral English communication.

This appointment is subject to the National Pension Commission's (PenCom) prior written approval and the satisfactory completion of PenCom's fit and proper persons' due diligence, in line with Section 79 of the Pension Reform Act 2014.
