Job Description

The STP Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation and monitoring of the sewage treatment plant to ensure efficient wastewater treatment and safe plant performance. The position involves operating pumps, blowers, aeration equipment, clarifiers, filtration and dosing systems, while regularly checking plant conditions and process parameters. The operator records readings, monitors wastewater quality, handles sludge and treatment chemicals properly, and carries out routine cleaning and basic equipment maintenance. Any unusual plant conditions, equipment faults, leaks, or process problems must be identified and reported promptly to the supervisor. The STP Operator is also responsible for maintaining accurate operational records, following established safety and environmental procedures, keeping the treatment area clean and organized, and supporting inspections, sampling, testing, and other activities required to maintain proper plant operation and regulatory compliance.
