Position Overview:
SRI SKANDA FUELS PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our petrol station and convenience store in East Devonport.
The Retail Manager will be responsible for managing staff and rosters, overseeing sales and inventory, coordinating purchasing and merchandising, maintaining customer service standards, monitoring financial and operational performance, and ensuring the business operates efficiently and in compliance with relevant requirements.
The position will report directly to the Director/Business Owner and will contribute to achieving sales, profitability and operational objectives of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organise and control the day-to-day operations of the petrol station and convenience store.
• Determine appropriate product range, stock levels and customer service standards.
• Manage purchasing, supplier arrangements, stock replenishment and product pricing.
• Develop and implement marketing, promotional and sales activities to support business growth and achieve sales targets.
• Promote the establishment's goods and services and oversee customer service standards, including resolving customer complaints and service issues.
• Maintain and review accurate records of stock levels, sales and financial transactions.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, sales performance and operating expenses, and implement appropriate cost-control measures.
• Recruit, train, roster, supervise and manage retail staff and monitor staff performance.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety and other relevant operational and regulatory requirements.
Skills and Experience
• Minimum 3 years' experience in retail management or a similar managerial role.
• Experience in a petrol station, convenience store or similar retail environment is highly desirable.
• Strong staff management and leadership skills.
• Experience in inventory management, sales analysis and budgeting.
• Excellent customer service, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced retail environment and work independently.
