Since its incorporation in June 2025, the company has established a growing presence within the UK wholesale sector by supplying local retailers with a wide range of high-demand food and beverage products.

The business imports and distributes African and Caribbean grocery products, including popular items such as Malta drinks, Indomie noodles, and other fast-moving consumer goods. Operations are supported by Highsea Consult Nigeria Ltd, which manages supplier sourcing, quality control, product consolidation, and export coordination, ensuring a reliable and efficient supply chain into the United Kingdom.

As the company continues to grow, it is expanding its wholesale customer base, increasing import volumes, strengthening warehouse and fulfilment operations, and developing a digital ordering platform to improve customer service and operational efficiency. To support these growth plans, Highsea Consult Ltd is seeking a dedicated Business Development Executive to strengthen customer acquisition, supplier engagement, business growth initiatives, and commercial operations.

Role Overview

The Business Development Executive will play a key role in supporting the continued expansion of Highsea Consult Ltd by developing new business opportunities, building relationships with retail customers and suppliers, coordinating onboarding activities, supporting the rollout of the company's digital ordering platform, and assisting with the delivery of strategic growth initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with management to increase sales, improve customer engagement, strengthen commercial partnerships, and support the company's expansion into new markets and regions across the UK.

This role is essential to helping Highsea Consult Ltd manage increasing business demand while ensuring sustainable and structured growth.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Customer Acquisition
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the wholesale food and FMCG sectors.
Build and maintain relationships with African, Caribbean, and independent retail stores across Manchester and surrounding regions.
Generate leads through networking, referrals, outreach initiatives, and market research activities.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective wholesale customers.
Conduct customer meetings and presentations to promote company products and services.
Support the achievement of sales and revenue growth targets.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective retail customers.
Manage customer onboarding activities and ensure a seamless transition from enquiry to active account.
Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products and ordering solutions.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain regular communication with customers.
Identify opportunities for repeat business, account growth, and long-term partnerships.
Monitor customer satisfaction and respond to enquiries in a professional manner.
Supplier & Partnership Development
Support the development and management of relationships with suppliers and distribution partners.
Liaise with sourcing and supply chain teams to support product availability and business continuity.
Assist in identifying opportunities to strengthen supplier relationships and operational efficiency.
Coordinate communications between suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders where required.
Support commercial discussions and partnership development activities.
Digital Ordering Platform Support
Assist with the implementation and rollout of the company's online ordering platform.
Support customer onboarding and adoption of digital ordering tools.
Gather customer feedback regarding platform functionality and usability.
Work with management to identify opportunities for improving digital customer experiences.
Promote digital ordering capabilities to existing and prospective customers.
Marketing & Outreach
Conduct direct outreach activities targeting SMEs, independent retailers, and wholesale customers.
Support networking activities and participation in local business communities.
Assist with social media, website content, and promotional initiatives.
Promote the company's products and services through online and offline marketing channels.
Help strengthen the company's visibility within African, Caribbean, and wider FMCG retail markets.
Operational & Commercial Support
Assist in planning and delivering business development projects and growth initiatives.
Support warehouse, fulfilment, and customer service activities where required.
Maintain accurate CRM records, customer databases, and sales reports.
Monitor customer orders, account activity, and business development performance.
Prepare reports relating to sales activity, customer growth, and commercial performance.
Requirements
Essential
Previous experience in Business Development, Sales, Account Management, Customer Relationship Management, or a similar commercial role.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Experience generating leads and developing new business opportunities.
Ability to manage customer relationships and commercial discussions professionally.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Strong customer-focused approach and commercial awareness.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable
Experience within wholesale distribution, FMCG, food distribution, import/export, or retail sectors.
Knowledge of African and Caribbean food products and retail markets.
Experience working with independent retailers and wholesale customers.
Familiarity with digital ordering platforms and e-commerce systems.
Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
Experience supporting operational improvement and business growth projects.
