JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Investment and Trading Manager to oversee investment strategy execution and daily trading operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Execute trades across equities, fixed income, derivatives, structured products, and other asset classes, ensuring best execution and minimizing transaction costs, market impact, and slippage.
- Monitor market trends, liquidity, macroeconomic and geopolitical developments to identify investment opportunities and provide actionable insights to Portfolio Managers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, counterparties, institutional investors, and liquidity providers to secure competitive pricing and market access.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to rebalance portfolios in line with investment mandates, client objectives, and market developments.
- Monitor cash positions, collateral requirements, and liquidity needs to support trading activities and optimize balance sheet efficiency.
- Manage the impact of corporate actions, including dividends, mergers, stock splits, and rights issues, on portfolio holdings.
- Ensure trading activities comply with regulatory requirements, investment guidelines, and internal policies.
- Monitor portfolio exposures, leverage, counterparty risk, and mark-to-market positions.
Investigate and resolve trading errors, settlement discrepancies, and operational issues promptly.
- Conduct due diligence on investment products, fund managers, and counterparties to assess suitability and risk.
- Contribute to portfolio performance through effective trade execution, deal generation, and liquidity sourcing.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in institutional trading, trade execution, portfolio management, or a similar financial services role.
- SEC-sponsored individual status is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with sound knowledge of financial markets, asset classes, and portfolio management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools, VBA or SQL is an advantage.
- Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters, NGX, FMDQ, or similar institutional trading and market data platforms.
- Strong understanding of risk management, liquidity management, trade execution, and regulatory compliance.
