Role Overview

The Application & Web Design Professional will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining modern web applications, business software solutions, user interfaces, and digital platforms for both internal and client projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with developers, project managers, business analysts, clients, and senior stakeholders to transform business requirements into functional, visually engaging, and user-friendly digital solutions. The role requires a strong combination of technical development expertise, UI/UX design capability, problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities
Application Design & Development
Design, develop, test, and maintain web-based applications and software solutions.
Develop user-friendly, responsive, and scalable digital applications.
Collaborate with development teams to deliver software projects from concept through deployment.
Support the development of enterprise software, SaaS platforms, and business applications.
Build front-end and back-end functionality in accordance with project requirements.
Ensure applications are secure, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices.
Conduct testing, debugging, and performance optimisation activities.
Web Design & User Experience
Design and develop modern, responsive websites and digital interfaces.
Create wireframes, user journeys, prototypes, and visual concepts.
Improve user experience through effective design, accessibility, and usability principles.
Ensure websites function effectively across desktop, mobile, and tablet platforms.
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand design requirements and user expectations.
Maintain brand consistency across all digital platforms and applications.
Client Engagement & Project Delivery
Participate in client consultations and requirements gathering sessions.
Translate business needs into technical and design specifications.
Present design concepts, prototypes, and solution recommendations to clients.
Provide technical guidance and recommendations throughout project delivery.
Assist clients with system enhancements and digital transformation initiatives.
Support project implementation and user acceptance testing processes.
Digital Innovation & Technology Solutions
Identify opportunities to leverage automation, cloud technologies, and AI-driven solutions.
Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
Contribute to the development of innovative digital products and services.
Support business process automation and workflow optimisation initiatives.
Assist in delivering technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and performance.
Maintenance, Support & Quality Assurance
Monitor application and website performance.
Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective resolutions.
Conduct software updates, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and coding standards.
Maintain technical documentation, process guides, and system records.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across development projects.
Requirements
Essential
Proven experience in Web Design, Application Development, Software Development, or a similar technical role.
Strong knowledge of front-end web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
Experience designing and developing web applications and business software solutions.
Understanding of UI/UX design methodologies and best practices.
Experience working with content management systems and web development frameworks.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience working within Agile or project-based development environments.
Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, Digital Design, or a related discipline.
Experience developing SaaS platforms and enterprise applications.
Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and platforms.
Experience with AI-driven applications and automation tools.
Familiarity with database technologies and API integrations.
Experience using design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar platforms.
