Full Time Retail Manager
$80,000 Plus Superannuation per year

Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of The Huddle Cafe a successful Takeaway cafe in Merrylands NSW 2160. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining service standards, handling budgeting and financial reporting, coordinating stock and suppliers, and driving customer satisfaction and sales performance. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with a strong background in cafe or quick-service retail management who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the café to ensure efficient service delivery and a high standard of customer experience.
- Supervise, train and support café staff, allocate duties, monitor performance and foster a productive team environment.
- Prepare and manage staff rosters to ensure adequate staffing levels during busy and quieter trading periods.
- Monitor customer service standards, resolve customer enquiries and complaints promptly, and implement improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Oversee point-of-sale operations, cash handling, daily reconciliations and accurate recording of sales transactions.
- Maintain stock levels of food, beverages and retail items by ordering supplies, monitoring inventory and minimising wastage.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of quality products and cost-effective purchasing arrangements.
- Monitor sales performance, prepare operational reports and assist in achieving revenue, profitability and business growth targets.
- Implement pricing strategies, promotional activities and local marketing initiatives to increase customer traffic and repeat business.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, hygiene and relevant retail operating standards.
- Monitor the presentation, cleanliness and merchandising of the café to maintain an attractive and welcoming environment.
- Assist management in developing operational procedures and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualification and Experience
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in a retail, café, hospitality or food service management role is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supervising and leading staff in a fast-paced customer service environment.
- Strong knowledge of rostering, stock control, budgeting and daily retail operations.
- Experience using POS systems, inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
- Sound understanding of food safety, workplace health and safety, and retail compliance requirements.
