HGV Class 2 Driver (Days)

• Location: Preston site / Northwest (LA, BB, PR post codes / customer locations)
• Pay Rate: 14.00 - 16.00 per hour
• Shifts: Day shifts available 5 days per week (45 to 50 hours per week).

This position commences full-time on a 12-week temp-to-perm basis (based on business demand / requirements and performance / attendance within the 12-weeks). The role is being offered as a permanent basis after the initial 12-week period.

NW Recruitment Services Ltd are currently working in exclusive partnership with a well-established transport and logistics operation in the Preston area to recruit experienced HGV Drivers.

We are seeking HGV Class 2 (Category C) drivers on a day shift basis to join a busy and professional transport team offering regular work, ongoing support and long-term career prospects.

HGV Class 2 Drivers (Category C):
• Operating vehicles (up to 18-tonne curtain side with tail lift or rigid) on local and regional collection / delivery routes (PR, LA, BB postcodes)
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety inspections and reporting any defects
• Completing delivery paperwork and tachograph records accurately
• Loading, securing and transporting goods safely
• Providing a professional and courteous service during deliveries and collections
• Communicating effectively with transport teams regarding route updates and delays

Requirements:
• Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 penalty points (major endorsements not accepted)
• Previous HGV driving experience preferred and ideally referenceable
• Good understanding of driver hours regulations and transport compliance
• Good knowledge of UK road networks
• Strong communication skills and professional approach to work
• Reliable, safety-conscious and customer-focused attitude
