We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machines to fabricate components from sheet metal. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with various hand tools and equipment. The Laser Operator will play a crucial part in ensuring high-quality production standards are met while adhering to safety protocols.

Duties

Operate laser cutting machines to produce precise components from sheet metal.

Assemble and fabricate parts according to engineering specifications and drawings.

Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards.

Utilise basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during the fabrication process.

Maintain and troubleshoot machinery as needed, ensuring optimal performance.

Grind and finish components using appropriate tools and techniques.

Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance productivity.

Follow all health and safety regulations while working in the production environment.

Qualifications
Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in operating machinery, particularly laser cutting equipment. Familiarity with tooling, sheet metal fabrication, and welding processes is highly desirable. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical drawings and specifications accurately. Basic maths skills for performing measurements and calculations essential for the role. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is an advantage but not mandatory.
