Job Summary:
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations in Malaysia, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, and compliance with local regulations and company policies. This role involves managing accounting functions, leading budgeting and forecasting processes, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily financial operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and maintained.
- Manage and review month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and present financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance and analyze variances against budgets.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
- Ensure timely collection of receivables and efficient management of payables.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Oversee preparation and submission of tax filings (e.g., corporate tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax).
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Support internal and external audit processes and ensure audit readiness.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and profitability.
- Partner with sales and operations teams to optimize pricing, margins, and cost efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance.
- Drive process improvements and enhance financial systems and reporting tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (CA / ACCA / CPA / CMA) preferred.
- Experience: 5 10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 2 3 years in a managerial role. Experience in ICT distribution or technology industry is an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
