Job Summary:
A Presales Engineer Infrastructure & Cybersecurity plays a critical role in supporting the sales process by bridging the gap between technical expertise and customer business requirements. This professional is responsible for understanding customer IT infrastructure and security challenges, recommending suitable infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions, and providing technical guidance throughout the sales cycle.
The role focuses on enterprise infrastructure, networking, servers, storage, cloud platforms, data center technologies, cybersecurity solutions, and related enterprise technologies. The Presales Engineer works closely with customers, channel partners, vendors, and internal sales teams to design and present solutions that align with customer objectives and business needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Technical Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, networking, servers, storage systems, cloud platforms, data center technologies, and cybersecurity solutions to effectively communicate their value proposition to customers and partners.
2. Client Engagement: Collaborate with sales teams to engage prospective customers, understand technical and business requirements, identify pain points, and recommend suitable infrastructure and security solutions.
3. Solution Design: Design and present customized infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions that address customer requirements while ensuring scalability, reliability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
4. Product Demonstrations: Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and Proof of Concept (POC) sessions to showcase solution capabilities and business value.
5. Proposal Development: Work closely with sales and marketing teams to prepare technical proposals, solution architectures, bill of materials (BOM), technical documentation, and responses to RFPs/RFQs.
6. Technical Sales Support: Provide technical assistance throughout the sales cycle by addressing customer inquiries, objections, technical concerns, and implementation considerations.
7. Infrastructure Consulting: Assist customers in evaluating and implementing enterprise infrastructure solutions, including networking, servers, storage, cloud platforms, virtualization, high availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions.
8. Cybersecurity Consulting: Support customers in identifying cybersecurity risks and recommending solutions related to:
- Network Security
- Endpoint Security
- Email Security
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
- Vulnerability Assessment & Management
- Data Protection & Encryption
- Firewall & Secure Access Solutions
- Security Operations & Threat Detection
- Vendor & Partner Enablement
Deliver technical training and enablement sessions for channel partners, customers, and internal teams to enhance product knowledge and solution adoption.
9. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, cybersecurity threats, infrastructure innovations, and competitor solutions to maintain technical excellence and competitive advantage.
10. Customer Advocacy: Build strong customer relationships by understanding long-term business objectives and acting as a trusted technical advisor.
11. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product management, engineering, technical support, vendor teams, and customer success teams to ensure smooth transitions from presales to implementation.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 5 years of experience in Presales, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, System Engineering, or a similar ICT role.
- Experience with enterprise infrastructure, networking, servers, storage, cloud solutions, or cybersecurity technologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise customers and channel partners is highly preferred.
- Experience working with infrastructure vendors and cybersecurity manufacturers is an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, servers, storage, and data center infrastructure.
- Understanding of cloud computing platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with network architecture, routing, switching, wireless, and security technologies.
- Experience in solution design, technical architecture, and infrastructure planning.
- Knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience conducting product demonstrations and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
- Strong proposal writing and technical documentation skills (RFP/RFI responses).
- Ability to deliver effective presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
