HGV Class 1 Night Driver
Location: Preston
Pay: From 18.00 per hour (final rate to be confirmed following a successful on-site assessment/interview)
Shift Pattern: Night shifts, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Full-time, permanent opportunity (subject to completion of a 12-week temporary period through NW Recruitment Services, which forms part of the probation process)

NW Recruitment Services Ltd are working exclusively with a respected and long-established logistics and transport business based in Preston to recruit experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for their growing operation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operating Class 1 (Category C+E) articulated vehicles up to 44 tonnes on planned delivery schedules
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects in line with company procedures
• Completing deliveries safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales
• Maintaining accurate tachograph, delivery and transport documentation
• Ensuring loads are secured correctly and all compliance requirements are adhered to
• Communicating effectively with the transport team regarding routes, delivery updates and any operational issues

Essential Requirements:

• Full UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Maximum of 6 penalty points (no major endorsements accepted)
• Previous Class 1 driving experience, ideally recent and referenceable
• Sound knowledge of driver hours regulations and transport legislation
• Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach
• Good geographical knowledge of UK road networks and routes
