# Apigee Tech Lead

## About the Role

We are seeking an experienced **Apigee Tech Lead** to lead the design, implementation, and migration of enterprise API solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in **Apigee Edge**, **Apigee Hybrid/X**, API management, cloud technologies, and modern integration practices. This role requires both hands-on technical leadership and excellent stakeholder management skills to successfully deliver API transformation initiatives.

## Key Responsibilities

* Lead the design, development, deployment, and management of enterprise API solutions using Apigee.
* Drive the migration of APIs from **Apigee Edge** to **Apigee Hybrid/X**, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to best practices.
* Design secure, scalable, and high-performing API architectures.
* Implement API security standards including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys, and OpenAPI specifications.
* Collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to deliver integration solutions.
* Support API lifecycle management including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
* Work closely with cloud and infrastructure teams to deploy and manage APIs within Kubernetes environments.
* Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development teams.
* Participate in client meetings, technical workshops, and solution discussions.
* Ensure API governance, performance, security, and operational excellence across the platform.

## Required Skills & Experience

* 6+ years of experience in **API Management**, API Development, or Enterprise Integration.
* Strong hands-on experience with **Apigee Edge** and **Apigee Hybrid/X**.
* Proven experience leading **Apigee Edge to Apigee Hybrid/X migration** projects.
* Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.
* Experience with:

* REST APIs
* OAuth 2.0
* JWT Authentication
* OpenAPI/Swagger
* Exposure to cloud platforms, with **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)** preferred.
* Experience working with **Kubernetes** and **Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)**.
* Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and API deployment processes.
* Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and API governance experience.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.
* Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor engineering teams.

## Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with API security, governance, and enterprise integration patterns.
* Knowledge of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.
* Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
* Relevant Apigee or Google Cloud certifications are highly desirable.
