Position Title: Farm Labourer (Berry Farm)

Number of Vacancies: 25

Location of Work: Surrey, British Columbia
Terms of Employment
• Permanent, Full-Time
• 40 hours per week
• Overtime may be required during peak production periods
• Weekend, holiday and early morning work may be required
• Year-round employment
Wage
$18.25.
Performance-based wage increases may be offered.

Job Duties
The Farm Labourer will assist in all aspects of berry production, including:
• Plant, cultivate and maintain blueberry, raspberry and strawberry crops.
• Prepare fields for planting and assist with crop establishment.
• Prune berry plants to promote healthy growth and maximize production.
• Weed fields manually and using approved equipment.
• Apply fertilizers and assist with irrigation systems according to farm procedures.
• Harvest berries by hand while maintaining quality standards.
• Sort, grade and pack harvested berries for storage and shipment.
• Load, unload and transport harvested produce and farm supplies.
• Clean and sanitize harvesting equipment, packing areas and work sites.
• Assist with general farm maintenance and field cleanup.
• Monitor crops for pests, diseases and damage and report concerns to supervisors.
• Follow food safety, biosecurity and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Perform other general farm labour duties as assigned.
