The Role
Noosa Auto Group is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join its workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining Hyundai vehicles and related models. This role involves close collaboration with service advisors, parts staff, and fellow technicians in a customer-focused and team-oriented environment.
Major duties include:
• Conducting vehicle inspections and diagnostics to identify mechanical, electrical, and system faults
• Performing servicing, maintenance, and repair work on engines, braking systems, suspension, and electrical components
• Using diagnostic tools and manufacturer-specific software to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
• Ensuring all work complies with Hyundai manufacturer specifications, service standards, and industry best practices
• Maintaining accurate and detailed service and repair records
• Keeping up to date with evolving Hyundai technologies and automotive advancements
• Communicating clearly with customers regarding repair processes and recommendations when required
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organised workshop environment
• Coordinating with service advisors, parts staff, and technicians to support efficient workflow
• Participating in ongoing training and professional development programs
• Mentoring and supporting junior technicians and apprentices
• Assisting with advanced diagnostics or manufacturer support tasks as required
About You
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
• A minimum of three years’ post-trade experience in an automotive workshop environment
• Experience diagnosing engine, electrical, and system faults (preferred but not essential)
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• A proactive and professional attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Experience working with Hyundai vehicles or similar marques (advantageous but not mandatory)
