Job Description
Our client, a public sector entity, is looking for an experienced, IIBA-accredited Business Analyst to join their team on a 12-month contract. This is an opportunity to contribute to large-scale, meaningful projects within a structured and governance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Elicit, analyse, validate, and document business and functional requirements from diverse stakeholders
Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with business units and technical teams
Produce high-quality documentation including BRDs, FRS, user stories, use cases, and process maps
Conduct as-is and to-be process analysis, gap assessments, and impact analyses
Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable functional specifications
Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and QA teams throughout the delivery lifecycle
Manage and maintain the requirements backlog ensuring full traceability
Support UAT planning, coordination, and sign-off processes
Identify and manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID log)
Support change management and stakeholder communication activities
Minimum Requirements
Experience
Minimum 5 years of Business Analysis experience in a corporate or consulting environment
Demonstrated experience across the full BA lifecycle in multi-stakeholder environments
Experience in public sector or regulated environments is advantageous but not essential
Accreditation Mandatory
Valid IIBA certification is a non-negotiable requirement
ECBA, CCBA, or CBAP accepted CBAP will be given preference
Proof of current, valid accreditation must accompany all applications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Commerce, or a related field
Technical Skills
Proficiency in requirements management tools Jira, Confluence,or equivalent
Process modelling experience Visio, Lucidchart, or equivalent
Solid understanding of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
Experience with UML, BPMN, and use case modelling
Soft Skills
Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences
Professional, discreet, and able to navigate complex organisational environments
Self-directed with the ability to operate with minimal supervision
Additional Expectations
The successful candidate should be prepared for occasional national travel, estimated at approximately 25% of the contract duration, as and when required by the client.
