Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum (plus superannuation)

Position Summary
The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations and performance of the business. This includes managing staff, controlling inventory, implementing pricing and promotional strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining high standards of customer service. The role is critical to ensuring the profitability, efficiency, and ongoing growth of the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the retail store, ensuring efficient and profitable performance;
• Determine product mix, control stock levels, and manage inventory to meet customer demand;
• Develop and implement purchasing, pricing, and marketing strategies aligned with business objectives;
• Monitor financial performance, prepare budgets, control costs, and maintain accurate financial and stock records;
• Recruit, train, roster, supervise, and performance manage staff;
• Ensure high standards of customer service and resolve escalated customer complaints effectively;
• Oversee merchandising, promotions, and in-store displays to maximise sales;
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, including fuel handling and site safety requirements;
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely procurement and delivery of stock and fuel;
• Monitor market trends, fuel pricing, and competitor activities to maintain competitiveness;
• Communicate business policies, procedures, and updates to staff;
• Maintain overall accountability for store presentation, cleanliness, and operational standards.

Essential Skills and Requirements
• Relevant qualification in retail management, business, or a related field;
• Proven experience in retail or service station management of least 1 year of relevant work experience;
• Strong leadership, staff management, and organisational skills;
• Experience in inventory control, merchandising, and sales analysis;
• Financial management capability including budgeting and cost control;
• Excellent customer service and communication skills;
• Ability to implement marketing and promotional initiatives;
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
