Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced and detail-focused Auto Glazier / Paint Protection Film Installer / Signwriter to join our team in Archerfield.
About the Role
This is a hands-on technical role involving the preparation, installation, repair and finishing of automotive glass films, paint protection films, vehicle wraps, signage films and related styling products. The successful applicant will work across a variety of vehicles and customer projects, ensuring every installation is completed to a high professional standard.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
Preparing vehicles, glass surfaces, panels and work areas prior to installation, including cleaning, degreasing, measuring and inspecting surfaces for defects.
Installing automotive window films, tinting films and protective glass films to vehicles with accuracy, neatness and compliance with relevant standards.
Applying Paint Protection Film to bonnets, bumpers, mirrors, guards, doors, handles, headlights and other vehicle panels, ensuring seamless alignment, clean edges and bubble-free finishes.
Cutting, trimming, shaping and fitting film materials using hand tools, heat guns, squeegees, knives, plotters and other specialised installation equipment.
Installing custom vehicle wraps, styling films, colour-change films, decals, branding graphics and signage materials for private, commercial and fleet vehicles.
Preparing, laying out and applying signwriting graphics, lettering, logos and promotional signage according to customer specifications and design requirements.
Removing old, damaged or incorrectly applied films, tinting, wraps or signage without damaging vehicle paintwork, trims, glass or panels.
Reading job cards, measurements, templates, digital patterns and installation instructions to ensure accurate application of films and graphics.
Inspecting completed work for defects, lifting edges, contamination, scratches, bubbles, creases or misalignment, and carrying out rectification where required.
Advising customers and team members on appropriate film types, finishes, protection levels, maintenance requirements and aftercare instructions.
Maintaining tools, installation bays, stock, film rolls, cleaning materials and equipment in a clean, safe and organised condition.
Following workplace health and safety procedures, including safe handling of blades, heat equipment, chemicals, adhesives, ladders and vehicle components.
Working with supervisors and other installers to ensure jobs are completed on time, within scope and to ZPSC’s quality standards.
Skills and Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in automotive window tinting, auto glazing, Paint Protection Film installation, vehicle wrapping, signwriting or a closely related trade.
Strong hand skills and attention to detail, especially when cutting, trimming, aligning and finishing films or graphics.
Ability to work with a range of vehicles, panels, glass surfaces and film products.
Knowledge of surface preparation, adhesive films, heat forming, shrinkage, edge sealing and contamination control.
Ability to interpret customer requirements, job cards, templates, digital cut files or design layouts.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to achieve a clean, professional finish on complex surfaces.
A strong understanding of workshop safety, tool handling and care of customer vehicles.
Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A current driver licence is preferred.
Desirable Experience
Experience with premium or high-end vehicles.
Experience using film plotters, cutting software or digital templates.
Experience in commercial signage, vinyl lettering, decals or fleet branding.
Experience with architectural window films, security films or decorative films.
