Full Time Accountant (General)
$80,000 + SUPERANNUATION
Summary
The position is based in Perth, Western Australia. Due to the continued growth of the organisation's operations in Western Australia and the increasing number of participants receiving services in the region, an Accountant (General) is required to oversee the financial operations of the Perth office. The role is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, payroll administration, accounts management, taxation support, compliance, and financial analysis to support the organisation's ongoing growth and operational requirements. The successful candidate will maintain effective financial controls, reporting standards, and accounting practices to support the organisation's financial management and compliance obligations.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly financial and management reports.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial record keeping.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Process payroll and employee entitlements.
• Prepare bank, payroll, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with BAS, taxation, and compliance reporting.
• Monitor NDIS billing, claims, and revenue reconciliation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Assist with internal audits and financial control procedures.
• Providing advice on financial and taxation matters.
• Coordinate business insurance renewals, claims, and related financial documentation.
• Oversee financial and operational administration for the Perth office.
Qualification and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Master of Accounting or Master of Professional Accounting is desirable.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as an Accountant (General).
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll administration, taxation, accounts payable and receivable, and account reconciliations.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), GST, taxation, and financial compliance requirements.
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.
• Experience within the healthcare, disability, aged care, community services, or NDIS sector is desirable.
