With a strong presence across the WA Wheatbelt, they are committed to providing their customers with world-class equipment and exceptional after-sales support. As a leading dealer for Case IH and other top-tier brands, they pride themselves on their technical expertise, integrity, and deep-rooted connection to the broadacre farming industry.
The Role:
Boekeman Machinery is seeking a skilled Diesel Motor Mechanic to join their service team. This role is focused on the high-level maintenance and repair of compression-ignition engines and associated components found in heavy broadacre machinery. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of high-horsepower engines and drivetrains, working across both our modern branch workshops and performing critical field-service repairs on-site at client farms.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and associated systems on large-scale agricultural machinery (tractors 200hp+, headers, and sprayers).
• Dismantle, overhauling, and reassemble engine blocks, cylinder heads, fuel injection systems, and turbochargers.
• Troubleshoot and repair engine management systems, cooling systems, and advanced air intake/exhaust components.
• Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on hydraulic and transmission systems, ensuring seamless power transfer in heavy-duty applications.
• Perform 12/24V auto-electrical diagnostics and repairs related to engine control units (ECUs) and machine monitoring.
• Execute "pre-delivery" testing and tuning of new diesel machinery to ensure peak performance under load.
• Provide rapid-response field service and breakdown repairs to minimize downtime for farmers during harvest and seeding.
• Use specialized diagnostic equipment to test engine performance and emissions.
• Maintain accurate service records and technical reports for all engine and drivetrain work.
• Mentor apprentices and ensure all work adheres to strict WHS and environmental standards.
What We’re Looking For:
• Trade Qualification: AQF Certificate III or IV in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Agricultural Mechanical Technology (aligned with ANZSCO 321212).
• Experience: Proven experience in the repair and overhaul of heavy-duty diesel engines.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnostic software and a deep understanding of fuel injection, cooling, and pressurized hydraulic systems (CCLS / PFC).
• Technical Preference: Direct experience with CNH (Case IH / New Holland) engines is highly preferred. Experience with Cummins, John Deere, or AGCO power plants is a strong secondary option.
• Attributes: Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under the pressure of seasonal deadlines.
What’s on Offer:
• Competitive Remuneration: Top-tier hourly rates with significant overtime potential.
• Career Path: Ongoing factory-certified training on the latest diesel and engine management technologies.
• Stability: Full-time security with a respected industry leader in the WA Wheatbelt.
• Support: A modern fleet of service vehicles and access to the latest manufacturer diagnostic tools.
