Full Time Accountant (General)
$75,000 - $80,000 + Superannuation
Summary
Omega Care Pty Ltd is an organisation that provides multiple businesses to the community. The organisation has is regional office in Latrobe Valley with other offices in Dandenong and Pakenham with possibility of interstate expansion. Omega is a licensed Children Service Provider and Licensed NDIS provider with many other services. Positions have opened where we require the services of an enthusiastic strong qualified accountant with experience in accounting to general ledger with a strong compliance and financial analysis acumen.
Duties
• Proactive financial analysis to help the management identify its trends, risks and opportunities and then drive strategic initiatives to capture the benefits.
• Oversee and take ownership of all month, quarter and yearly results, report and present to CEO and Board level and provide the valuable insights on results.
• Drive and execute highly successful financial strategy with an aim to improve financial reporting, change and risk management and the development and execution of business operational analysis and transformation in projects.
• Oversee all the financial functions including the design of robust processes and controls implementation in the world of accounting.
• Coordinate all work and interaction with external/internal auditors for annual audit processes to the utmost satisfaction.
• Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Specialises in developing complex KPL's for the various departments and their team leaders with the subsequent approach to achieve those financial targets.
• Supervising the budgetary requirements, PL forecasting and the financial reporting side of the entity's operations.
• Providing financial and taxation advice on entity's operation, cashflow management and risk exposure across investment projects.
• Conducting financial investigations, preparing reports, undertaking audits and advising on matters, capital financing, suspected fraud and taxation.
• Liaising with Financial Institutions and external stakeholders to establish funds management arrangements.
• Providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operations.
• Full responsibility of month-end reporting.
• Analysis and interpretation of company performance and in-depth analysis of performance against budget.
• Establish, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Preparation of year-end financial statements.
• Liaise with external Financers, Accountants, Tax Advisers, and Auditors.
• Coordination point for the annual audit and half yearly audit review.
• Ensure statutory compliance requirements of Superannuation, GST, FBT, PAYG, Payroll Tax, ABS etc.

Required Skills
• A minimum bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or related field
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent
• Strong accounting from bookkeeping to general ledger skills.
• Strong compliance and financial analysis acumen.
• Skill in internal audit and client portfolio management.
• Strong skills in financial analysis and able to provide reliable advice on Client’s budgeting matters.
• Strong cashflow skills and financial reporting.
• Strong working experience in accounting, asset management internal control.
• Proficient in risk management.
• Solid hands-on experience with Myob, Xero etc.
• Strong Excel and Word skills.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Positive attitude and excellent organisational skills.
• Competent data entry skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and part of a team.
