Job Description
The Mexican Corner Restaurant is looking for a passionate Cooks to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for executing recipes with precision and following food-safe procedures at all times.
Duties:
-Keep work areas, equipment, and prep surfaces clean and sanitary, ensuring safe food handling at all times.
-Ensure freshness and quality by checking ingredients, regulating equipment temperatures, and rotating stock.
-Prepare and cook a range of foods, following recipes and plating standards for a great guest experience.
-Assist with kitchen organization, maintain proper food levels, and communicate inventory needs to the team.
-Support fellow team members and adapt to different kitchen tasks as needed, especially during rush periods.
Requirements:
-Solid knowledge of culinary practices, food preparation, health & safety standards, and plate presentation.
-Skilled in proper knife handling, kitchen equipment use, and accommodating special dietary needs.
-2 3 years of experience in full-service restaurant operations, with Food-Safe certification highly desirable.
-Ability to handle the physical demands of the job: standing long hours, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
-Strong teamwork, time management, accountability, and ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.
-Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
-A valid work permit is required
