Position Title: Substitute Educational Aide
Location: Rocky River City Schools / Rocky River, OH
Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call
Pay Rate: $16.00/Hour
About the Role
Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable, caring, and flexible Substitute Educational Aides to support classrooms when regular staff are unavailable. This position plays an important role in maintaining a structured, supportive learning environment by assisting students, reinforcing instruction, and helping ensure continuity across academic and behavioral supports.
Key Responsibilities
Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and daily classroom support
Provide individualized or small-group assistance to students, including those with special needs
Carry out accommodations and modifications as directed by certified staff
Support students with organization, transitions, and classroom participation
Supervise students across various school settings, including classrooms, cafeterias, hallways, and outdoor areas
Promote positive behavior and help maintain a respectful, inclusive environment
Follow lesson plans, behavior plans, and school safety procedures
Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and administrators
Record observations or incidents when required
Required Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid educational aide permit or appropriate Ohio licensure
Clean criminal background check
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to follow instructions and adapt to different classroom environments
Professionalism, patience, and reliability when working with students
Ability to meet physical demands of assisting students when needed
Compliance with the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working with children or in school-based settings
Experience supporting students with disabilities
Training in behavior support, de-escalation, or classroom management strategies
