The role:

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Electrician to join their growing workshop team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicle electrical systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety.

You will work across a wide range of vehicle makes and models, contributing to a professional, team-oriented environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in a variety of vehicles.
Installing, maintaining, and repairing automotive electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, ignition, and electronic control systems.
Testing and troubleshooting electrical components using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Interpreting wiring diagrams and manufacturer specifications to perform accurate repairs.
Installing aftermarket accessories such as alarms, immobilisers, GPS systems, and infotainment units.
Conducting inspections and ensuring all electrical systems meet safety and compliance standards.
Maintaining detailed service and repair records.
Collaborating with service advisors, technicians, and parts departments to ensure efficient workflow.
Staying up to date with modern vehicle technologies, including hybrid and electronic systems.
Maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment.

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent).
A minimum of 3 years’ post-trade experience as an Automotive Electrician.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Experience with modern vehicle electrical systems and diagnostic tools.
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
A positive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
