The Role:
AWCON is seeking a motivated and experienced fitter to perform repairs, maintenance, and servicing across a range of machinery, equipment, and vehicles. This role will suit individuals with strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on a variety of equipment and machinery.
- Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and inspections to ensure operational efficiency.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and service manuals
- Carry out welding, fabrication, and machining as required.
- Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Identify and troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Operate and maintain diagnostic tools and equipment to assess faults accurately.
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople, supervisors, and engineers to optimize performance.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance work comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
- Perform breakdown repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to workplace safety protocols, risk assessments, and environmental policies.
- Provide training and mentorship to apprentices and junior team members.
- Liaise with service advisors or clients to provide technical recommendations and updates.
What We’re Looking For:
- Trade qualification or equivalent: AQF Certificate III, AQF Certificate IV in Mechanical trades.
- Minimum 2-3 years preferred in similar positions.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
