Taxation Accountant Full-Time Position
Salary: $76515 + Superannuation
The Taxation Accountant will be responsible for managing client accounts, ensuring compliance with Australian taxation laws, and supporting financial reporting and business advisory functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Preparation and lodgement of Income Tax Returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts
• Attend to all client business needs through the provision of accounting, tax and business advisory services in a timely manner.
• Completion of accounts and tax returns for all client structures with review and supervision by managers and directors.
• Managing accounts payable and receivable functions
• Performing bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Maintaining accurate financial records and bookkeeping using software such as Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks
• Provide advice in relation to various tax matters including GST, CGT and FBT
• Processing payroll, ensuring compliance with STP and superannuation obligations
• Preparing financial statements preparation in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
• Supporting Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) accounting and compliance
• Liaising with clients to gather financial data and provide taxation support
• Assisting with audit processes and ensuring regulatory compliance
Skills & Experience Required
• Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 1 2 years of relevant accounting/taxation experience
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and compliance requirements
• Compliance obligations, payroll tax, land tax, fringe benefit tax, stamp duty and the ASIC requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, Reckon, QuickBooks, Handi Soft.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws, GST, CGT, and FBT regulations is mandatory
• Experience in SMSF is an advantage
• A strong level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Highly organised and hardworking
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
• Communicate effectively with others at all levels of the business
