Job Summary

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care in various clinical settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health centers.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to determine appropriate interventions.
Administer medications and injections accurately following physician orders while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
Manage complex procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, wound suturing, and ventilator management with precision and confidence.
Document all patient interactions and treatments meticulously using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or Cerner to ensure seamless communication across care teams.
Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medication regimens, and post-discharge care plans to promote recovery and well-being.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and case managers to develop personalized care strategies that meet each patient’s unique needs.
Skills

Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation.
Proficiency in specialized nursing procedures including botulinum toxin treatments, ostomy care, dialysis management, and trauma medicine.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers with skills in airway management and acute pain control.
Ability to perform complex assessments such as triage in urgent care or emergency room settings; familiarity with infectious disease protocols is preferred.
Skilled in working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics (including memory and dementia care), patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.

Active License in Texas
1 year of relevant experience
