Job Summary:
Our client, Sureweld, is seeking a talented and experienced Trailer Chassis Frame Welder to join our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Wangaratta, VIC. As a leading Australian manufacturer of premium aluminium loading ramps and plant trailers, you will play a vital role in our production line. You will expertly work with high-grade aluminium, ensuring all chassis frames are welded to the rigorous safety and quality standards that Sureweld is known for. With a focus on innovation and precision, you will collaborate with our engineering team to "keep Australians moving".
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret technical drawings and computer models to determine specific welding requirements for aluminium trailer chassis.
• Work exclusively with high-quality aluminium alloys, utilizing specialized welding techniques (MIG/TIG) for lightweight, high-strength applications.
• Conduct material preparations, ensuring aluminium components are accurately cleaned and prepped for the production of trailer frames.
• Weld all Trailer Chassis Frames within the specified scope of design, ensuring compliance with Australian Design Rules (ADR).
• Liaise with Engineering & Drafting to provide feedback on drawings and assist in the continuous improvement of trailer designs.
• Collaborate with the Operations team to meet production scheduling targets and ensure all customer expectations for durability are met.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and uncluttered workspace, adhering to Sureweld’s strict safety protocols and industry-leading quality control.
Requirements
• Completion of a trade certificate (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade) or 3+ years of relevant experience in aluminium welding.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in structural welding.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and work with sophisticated manufacturing technology, including robotics where applicable.
