Job Description
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Practitioner to work from 7.30am-6pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. You will be working within our breakfast club and after school care with time in the nursery. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring children are taken safely to school and from school, working with the children in our out of school care and supporting staff within the nursery during the day.
Key Responsibilities:
· Foster and develop positive and professional relationships with parents and carers
· Facilitate a fun packed programme which delivers a planned range of activities e.g. arts and crafts, drama, sport, games and music in line with Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence and the Playwork Principles
· Ensure risk assessments are carried out and that all safety checks are completed
· Work with children and families to provide a stimulating learning environment both indoors and outdoors.
Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:
· A relevant qualification (i.e. SVQ3 in Childhood Practice or equivalent) and be willing to undertake any training and development where required;
· Knowledge of GIRFEC, Realising the Ambition, Play work Principles and Out to Play documentation.
· Experience of working in a childcare setting.
The hours of work for the post are 40 hours per week
Successful candidates will need to complete an application for membership to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme (Children), as well as complete registration to join the Scottish Social Services Council.
